Gaza workers face toxic fumes seeking fuel
In the Nuseirat camp in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian workers use primitive methods to convert plastic waste into fuel, in an attempt to address the ongoing energy shortage and meet basic needs such as transportation and cooking. These workers face significant health risks due to exposure to toxic fumes during the process, in addition to the environmental damage caused by burning plastics unsafely, amidst strict restrictions on accessing supplies and the continuing fuel crisis in the area. This initiative reflects the pressures faced by residents in Gaza, who are forced by circumstances to invent risky solutions to ensure the continuation of their daily lives.
