The article discusses the Israeli occupation authorities' plan to reorganize colonial blocks in the West Bank by defining and expanding zones of influence. These zones serve as a central tool for spatial control and the expansion of settlements. It notes the adoption of 67 new and amended zones of influence during 2026, covering over 138,000 dunams, primarily concentrated in two phases between May and August. The purpose of this is to facilitate settlement expansion and infrastructure development, despite the fact that this does not grant the occupation legal sovereignty over the land. These measures aim to establish a future framework for Israeli control that limits Palestinian development and threatens Palestinian presence in the targeted areas.
