Photographer recounts West Bank settler attack
Under the title "Palestinians Saved My Life"… An American Photographer Shares Details of a Brutal Attack by Settlers in the West Bank," American photographer Heidi Levin revealed details of a brutal assault she endured at the hands of settlers in the West Bank. She stated that the intervention of Palestinian youths was the decisive factor in saving her from death, as they placed themselves on the front lines to protect her and pushed the attackers away despite the dangers of the situation, after she was severely beaten and sustained fractures during the assault. This attack occurs within the context of an escalating campaign aimed at displacing Palestinians. The confrontation resulted in serious injuries to the journalist, with no intervention from the occupation forces, who instead pursued the young rescuers. The incident highlights the risks faced by Palestinians and activists amid a continuing policy of attacks by settlers supported by occupation forces.
