Jordanian border guard forces in the Northern Military Zone foiled an attempted infiltration by an armed group of around 14 people coming from Syrian territory on Friday evening. The army said the group tried to cross under heavy gunfire and clashed with the forces, resulting in casualties among its members, while the rest fled back into Syria. It affirmed that it would deal firmly with any attempt at infiltration or smuggling.
