A 5.5 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck the Jurm area east of Afghanistan at a depth of 216.7 kilometers, with no immediate human or material losses recorded. This was preceded by other earthquakes over the past few months, including a 6.0 magnitude quake in the Hindukush, Kunar, and Nangarhar regions, which resulted in over 2,200 deaths and 3,600 injuries. The recurrence indicates that the area is experiencing frequent seismic activity.
