England blocks Congolese scheme

Harry Kane led the England national team to qualify for the Round of 16 in the 2026 World Cup after a 2-1 victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo, despite falling behind early due to a goal from Brian Cibinga. Kane scored twice in the 78th and 86th minutes, breaking a drought of not winning after conceding first since 1966, and securing the third victory over an African team in the knockout stages. England will face Mexico in the next match.
