Ebola death toll reaches 438 in DRC

The health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo announced that the Ebola virus death toll has risen to 438, with over 1,400 cases reported since the outbreak began on May 15. The majority of cases and deaths have been concentrated in Ituri Province, and a new case was identified in the city of Kisangani, involving a woman who transported a body from an infected area. There is currently no approved vaccine or treatment for the Bundibugyo virus, which is responsible for the outbreak, but authorities are conducting clinical trials to limit its spread.
