Education warns: Excessive absence leads to exam disqualification
The article discusses the issue of school absenteeism and its impact on students' likelihood of being excluded from the first semester exam in Qatar. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has implemented strict procedures based on the number of unexcused absences. Specifically, if a student misses five days, a meeting is held with their guardian; if absences reach six or eight days, the student faces exclusion from the exams; and if absences amount to nine days, the student becomes ineligible to sit for the exam. The ministry also emphasized the importance of attendance to ensure participation in the exams, as part of measures aimed at promoting discipline, attendance, and creating a motivating learning environment.
