Carnegie boosts research funding and aid
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar has launched the "Accelerator" grant program to support high-impact academic research, with the aim of enhancing the university's research environment and providing long-term support to faculty members to help them expand their research and increase their scholarly output. The program includes seven grants in its inaugural cycle, covering a diverse range of disciplines such as humanities, physics, software systems, and cancer-related research, and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, additional programs are being developed, such as the "Encubator" grants to support early-stage research ideas, and the University Researcher of the Year Award, which aims to motivate students to actively participate in scientific research. The overall goal is to achieve a tangible impact in the real world and elevate the level of research within Qatar.
