Voters in Sweden headed to the ballot boxes to participate in a parliamentary election characterized by a closely contested race between the right-wing bloc led by Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and the opposition led by the Social Democratic Party headed by Magdalena Andersson. Recent polls show the opposition with a slight lead, with support ranging between 49.3% and 50.8%, compared to 47.6% to 49% for the right-wing bloc, reflecting intense competition. The campaign addresses issues such as immigration, gang violence, and economic and social policies. There is a possibility that Andersson may face challenges in forming a stable government, especially amidst disagreements among parties on several key issues. Löfven aims to secure a second term, promising to include the Sweden Democrats in the government if he wins.
