Qatar Calendar House: Jumada Al-Awwal Starts Next Monday
Qatar Calendar House announced that the astronomical beginning of the month of Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH will be on Monday, October 12, 2026. The new moon will be born on Saturday evening, October 10, at 6:51 PM Doha time. Since it will not be possible to sight the crescent in Qatar’s sky that evening, the start of the month will be based on astronomical calculations that determine the moon's movement around the Earth, which in turn establishes the start of the Hijri months. Meanwhile, the Earth's orbit around the Sun influences the beginning of Gregorian months.
