GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi stressed the importance of strengthening joint Gulf systems to secure food, medicine and other essential needs amid geopolitical disruptions affecting supply chains and trade routes. He made the remarks at a joint ministerial meeting that discussed a study on establishing strategic storage zones across the Gulf. The study was prepared in coordination with the member states, and its findings were presented to undersecretaries on 12 October 2026. It aims to offer practical recommendations to strengthen the GCC states’ preparedness and ensure the continuity of their supplies, ahead of its submission to the Supreme Council.
