Palestinian National Council President Rawhi Fattouh said that rain and cold had flooded displaced people’s tents and caused some to collapse in the Gaza Strip, marking a new chapter in the humanitarian tragedy as they lack shelter and the basic necessities of life. Since Friday, a deep low-pressure system and heavy rain have flooded tents and damaged mattresses, blankets and food supplies, worsening the suffering of thousands of displaced people. Fattouh called for urgent international action to provide temporary housing, shelter materials and heating, and to ensure that humanitarian aid can enter without restrictions.
