UN Warns of HIV/AIDS Progress Setback
The Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) warned that efforts to combat the disease are declining due to significant cuts in international aid, which have led to reduced testing and prevention programs, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. Reports showed a 38% decrease in pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) treatment and a 90% reduction in condom distribution funding, threatening the sustainability of HIV/AIDS efforts worldwide.
