Oil slides over 3% on US-Iran progress
Oil prices dropped by more than 3 percent at the close, amid increasing confidence in the possibility of reaching a peace agreement between the United States and Iran. Brent crude fell to its lowest level since early March at $87.33 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate reached $84.88, the lowest since April 17. The decline followed positive signals regarding negotiations between Washington and Tehran, along with tensions related to Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
