Heavy rains in northwest Pakistan kill 11 people
Eleven people, including women and children, lost their lives in the Kohat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in northwestern Pakistan as a result of a house collapse caused by heavy rains sweeping across the country. Rescue teams are working to recover victims from beneath the debris, with no additional injuries reported. Pakistan faces annual heavy monsoon rains from June to September, which often lead to landslides, floods, and destruction of infrastructure.
