US futures rise as oil falls
U.S. stock futures rose on Monday morning as oil prices declined, amid relative calm in tensions between the United States and Iran over the weekend. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 550 points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices rose by 1% and 1.7%, respectively. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil prices dropped by 9.2% to around $87.89, and West Texas Intermediate fell more than 7% to $82.46, driven by easing tensions in the Middle East and decreased oil demand. It is expected that earnings reports from major companies and the Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates will influence the market this week, with forecasts of a quarter-percentage-point interest rate hike.
