According to data from Kepler, China's crude oil imports are expected to recover in July after falling to their lowest level in over ten years in June. Imports are anticipated to reach around 7.8 million barrels per day, compared to 6.2 million barrels in June. This recovery is attributed to the arrival of stranded oil shipments in the Arabian Gulf and increased refinery purchases of Russian oil, following improved oil flows from the Gulf after a temporary ceasefire was reached between the United States and Iran, despite renewed tensions in the region. Additionally, imports saw significant rises from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Russia, indicating an upward trend that could influence oil prices, even as Chinese demand slows due to economic slowdown and policies promoting a transition to clean energy.
