Saudi Arabia expects its automotive and mobility sector to experience extensive growth in 2026, with significant investments launched by the Public Investment Fund and its portfolio companies, aimed at boosting and localizing the automotive industry. Since 2018, the fund has initiated several projects, including the King Salman Automotive Manufacturing Complex, and formed partnerships with international companies such as Lucid and Hyundai to produce electric and smart vehicles, with a target of manufacturing 150,000 cars by 2029. The development also includes localizing supply chains, establishing factories for tires and rims, and expanding the fast-charging network for electric vehicles by setting up stations along major roads, to facilitate long-term electric mobility.
