Kingdom: Armed Forces Strike in Iraq
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the strikes carried out by its forces in coordination with the U.S. Central Command were a response to attacks on Saudi oil facilities by Iran-backed militias in Iraq. It noted that these operations were conducted within the framework of the right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, and stated that the Kingdom does not seek escalation but will take the necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and citizens if subjected to future attacks.
