Saudi Arabia targets Iran-backed groups in Iraq
The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced targeted strikes against locations affiliated with Iranian-backed terrorist militias in Iraq. These operations were in response to attempts to target oil facilities in the kingdom using drones launched from Iraq. The operations were coordinated with the U.S. Central Command, and Riyadh affirms its right to defend itself. It considers these strikes a response to irresponsible escalation by the militias, as it continues its efforts to maintain regional security and stability.
