Saudi Arabia Justifies Iraq Strikes as Self-Defense
Saudi Arabia announced that its strikes on specific targets in Iraq were carried out in self-defense, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. This action was a response to attacks by Iran-backed militias that targeted oil facilities within the Kingdom. The ministry confirmed that this operation came after irresponsible escalation and emphasized that the Kingdom does not seek escalation but will take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and citizens if attacks continue. The strikes also alleviated tensions caused by the militia escalation, reaffirming the Kingdom's commitment to safeguarding its security and stability.
