Saudi Arabia's red line on X platform
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia launched targeted military strikes against sites affiliated with Iran-backed militias in Iraq in response to drone attacks that targeted oil facilities in the Eastern Province and Riyadh. The Ministry of Defense confirmed that the strikes were coordinated with the U.S. Central Command, following the interception and destruction by Saudi air defenses of drones attempting to attack the facilities. It indicated that these attacks originated from Iraqi territory, and that the Kingdom targeted specific sites linked to those assaults, asserting its ongoing right to defend its sovereignty and interests in accordance with international law. The ministry justified this action as a legitimate act of self-defense. Public reaction via the hashtag "Saudi Arabia is Red Line" expressed support for the defensive measures and rejection of any attempts to threaten the security and stability of the Kingdom.
