Greek Paros Island Evacuation over Fire
Greek authorities are battling an uncontrollable wildfire on the island of Paros in the Aegean Sea, leading to the evacuation of several areas and bringing the flames close to residential zones. So far, no injuries or material damages have been reported. Firefighting teams are intensifying their efforts with stations from Naxos, Syros, and the mainland. The hot, dry weather and strong winds—becoming more impactful in recent years—are causing forest fires to recur, despite the absence of severe heatwaves this year.
