Brazil Imposes Historic Suspension on Player
A Brazilian court has issued a ruling to suspend defender Vítor Gabriel, an Internacional player, for up to six months or until the injured striker recovers. This decision comes after he caused his teammate Gabriel Piquet to fracture his leg during a league match on July 22. The ruling was made due to the perceived severity of the injury and the inadequacy of the usual punishment, with the suspension being subject to appeal. Vítor Gabriel expressed remorse and apologized for the incident, while the court questioned the validity of the club's evidence, requesting the exclusion of a voice recording from the evidence due to doubts about its authenticity.
