Apple offers device rentals via subscription

Apple has launched the "Apple Uptrade" program in the United States in partnership with the financing company "Clarna." The program allows users to rent devices such as iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches in exchange for a monthly payment. The program offers multiple options at the end of the contract, including purchasing the device, trading it in for a newer model, or returning it, with ownership not automatically transferred. Devices must be returned in good condition, and additional fees may be charged for damages or defects. The program excludes certain products, and iPhone rentals are limited to customers of specific carriers. The aim of the program is to reshape the concept of device ownership by shifting to a subscription-based dependence rather than direct purchase.
