Dollar recovers after Fed decision and Iran strike escalation
The US dollar has regained some strength against major currencies in Asian trading after the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, amid cautiousness due to divisions within the Federal Open Market Committee and geopolitical tensions following Washington's airstrikes on Iran. The Dollar Index rose by 0.1% to 100.93, while the British pound declined by 0.2% to $1.3347, and the euro fell by 0.1% to $1.1453. Developments in the Middle East offset the previous decline in the dollar, which had reached its lowest level since July 20, as geopolitical tensions in the region escalated.
