Ministers release Jerusalem support statement

Following the ministerial meeting supporting Jerusalem held in Amman today, a statement was issued emphasizing the condemnation of Israeli policies aimed at changing the religious identity and legal status of occupied Jerusalem. The statement also rejected the illegal and provocative measures taken by Israel, including settler incursions and restrictions on access to Al-Aqsa Mosque. It reaffirmed that East Jerusalem is part of the Palestinian territories occupied and that Israel has no sovereignty over it. The statement called on the international community to take action to halt Israeli escalation, in addition to supporting the Hashemite guardianship over holy sites and safeguarding the legal and historical status of the city. It also condemned Israel's attempts to undermine the Christian presence in Jerusalem. Furthermore, the statement urged restraint to prevent religious exploitation and called for coordinated international efforts to stop violations. It stressed the importance of protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites and rejected any unilateral decisions that conflict with international law.
