Google replaces voice assistant with Gimmie
Google has announced the start of the process to phase out the voice assistant service on Android devices, beginning September 4th. It will gradually transition to the "Gimenai" system, replacing the previous assistant. The changes will affect phones, tablets, smartwatches, speakers, and vehicles supporting Android Auto, with the exception of cars relying on embedded systems that will not be affected for now. The transition will happen automatically, and users will not be required to download an app or change settings. The old assistant will continue to function on some devices that do not meet the update requirements. Google has not announced a final date for shutting down the service completely, but the transition will occur in phases, and it is expected to include all targeted devices shortly.
