In Damascus, three energy purchase agreements were signed between Mohammed Al Harfi Company of Saudi Arabia and the Syrian Electricity Company. Additionally, two technical cooperation agreements were made with Saudi Electricity Company for project development and with Siemens Energy Germany. These arrangements are part of a plan to develop three solar energy projects with a total capacity of 760 MW and storage systems with a capacity of 1,077 MWh. The purchase contracts range from 20 to 25 years, with prices starting at 3 cents per kilowatt-hour, accompanied by consulting, engineering, and technical support services from the participating companies. The aim of these agreements is to strengthen collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Syria, develop sustainable energy projects, and contribute to achieving Syria’s sustainable development goals.
