Universities’ Unique Identities
The article focused on the approach of Saudi universities to develop specialized identities that reflect their areas of excellence, within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030. The Minister of Education pointed out that King Faisal University emphasizes food security and environmental sustainability, Jeddah University concentrates on transportation and logistics, Umm Al-Qura University focuses on Hajj and crowd management, and Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University specializes in Sharia law and Arabic language. This unique identity aims to promote research and development, enable universities to excel in their respective fields, and benefit society and the nation—especially as the importance of Sharia and Arabic language issues increases globally. Saudi universities are also expanding their specializations to enhance their competitive standing and meet the demands of the job market.
