Natural gas consumption in the kingdom has increased significantly over the past five years, rising from 3.267 trillion cubic feet in 2020 to 3.729 trillion in 2025, representing a total increase of 461.7 billion cubic feet or 14.1%. During the period from 2021 to 2025, there were variations in the growth rate, ranging between 0.58% and 4.79%, with a substantial rise in 2025 of 4.79%, marking the highest annual growth rate within this period. The volume of annual increase also grew markedly, reaching its peak at 170.5 billion cubic feet in 2025, compared to just 18.8 billion in 2021. This reflects a rising pace and a nearly ninefold increase in the size of each annual increment. It is expected that gas consumption growth will continue with fluctuating rates, with the highest rate in 2025 driven by increased demand and expansion in the energy and industrial sectors.
