90-day grace for Gulf vehicle stay
The Official Gazette announced the implementation of controls for a period of 90 days on vehicles registered in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries that enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aimed at regulating their stay within the country. The decision applies to vehicles owned by citizens or residents, or those they have authorized to drive upon entry through customs ports. An extension of the period can be requested before its expiration with the approval of the Ministry. A fine ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 Saudi Riyals will be imposed for violating the permitted duration, and vehicle owners must remove their vehicles before the period ends to avoid penalties. These procedures will take effect from the date the controls come into force, with the goal of organizing and regulating the use of Gulf vehicles within Saudi Arabia.
