Esports CEO: From Riyadh to Global Tradition
Ralph Reichert, CEO of the Saudi Esports Federation, confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup of Esports was a significant milestone, as it for the first time moved from the Kingdom to Paris. The tournament spanned seven weeks, featuring competitions among top players and teams from around the world. He explained that the goal was to create a platform that brings together different games, communities, and cultures in a single global event, and the idea was highly successful. Paris helped showcase the capabilities of esports on an international level. The event drew a large audience, with approximately 500,000 fans attending the competitions, and over 850 million people watched the event from their homes worldwide, reflecting its extraordinary success. Reichert also praised the performance of the teams, especially Vitality, which finished third, and Falcons, which secured second place, both of which delivered intense competition that lasted until the final week, underscoring the event’s competitive strength and excitement.
