Nevada wildfire prompts 40,000 evacuations
American authorities evacuated approximately 42,000 people from their homes in Reno, Nevada, as a large wildfire known as the "Hawk Fire" expanded to cover about 6,087 hectares and approached the city within 8 kilometers. The fire has destroyed homes and injured six people. An emergency has been declared in Washoe County, and residents have been urged to prepare for immediate evacuation due to the rapid spread of the fire, which is fueled by the winds, amid warnings that the situation could worsen.
