The number of bus passengers in the Kingdom increased by 23.2% during the second quarter of 2026, reaching over 26.34 million passengers compared to the previous year. Riyadh topped the list with 20.07 million passengers, accounting for approximately 76% of the total urban bus public transport. This growth reflects a rising dependence on bus transportation, driven by service development and improved operational efficiency. It also coincides with efforts by the authority to expand networks and transportation services within neighborhoods and vital areas in the cities.
