Clubs Confront Major Challenge
The major Saudi clubs, including Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli, have transitioned from the traditional club model to a sports company. Ownership of non-profit institutional shares has been transferred to the Public Investment Fund, and their councils have been dissolved. The new phase emphasizes the strategic management of these entities, focusing on building sustainable revenue streams, developing facilities, and advancing commercial projects and academies. It also involves issuing transparent financial reports and regularly measuring performance. The success of this transformation will not be judged solely by the number of championships won but by its ability to create a trustworthy investment environment, promote fair competition, and establish an effective management team capable of translating data and indicators into tangible results—all while maintaining the fans' relationship and their historical connection to the club.
