Korean Researchers Create Internet-Linked Brain Implant
South Korean researchers have developed a small brain implant that can be controlled remotely via the internet, allowing real-time interaction from distant locations. The technology utilizes a microfluidic system to deliver medications and a micro-LED valve to stimulate neural cells optically, with the capability for independent or synchronized operation. Experiments conducted on mice over a period of four weeks demonstrated that a researcher from Chicago was able to control the implant remotely in a mouse's brain. The results showed that this technology is beneficial for neuroscience studies related to behavior and addiction, although it is not yet ready for human therapy.
