Zakat and customs guide Gulf vehicle rules
The Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority clarified that the 90-day rectification period for vehicles with non-Saudi license plates applies to vehicles entering the kingdom driven by Saudi citizens or non-Gulf residents. This period does not cover vehicles driven by non-Saudi Gulf owners. Owners of such vehicles can rectify their status within this period either by removing them from Saudi Arabia or by registering them and completing the procedures for obtaining Saudi license plates. The categories covered by this period have been specified, with a clear emphasis that vehicles driven by non-Saudi Gulf owners are not included.
