Kingdom launches national food database
The General Authority for Food and Drug Administration in Saudi Arabia has launched the first national database of food compositions, aiming to provide accurate information about the nutrients and dishes consumed in the Kingdom. The database includes data on energy, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It supports the development of health and nutritional policies, promotes scientific research, and contributes to improving nutritional awareness and public health. This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to enhance digital transformation, improve quality of life, and promote evidence-based decision-making.
