Iran launches missiles at Gulf Jordan Iraq
The article discusses the escalation of the conflict between the United States and Iran, where Washington carried out airstrikes targeting around 100 sites belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards along Iran's southern coast in response to attacks on ships and military installations. Iran retaliated by launching missiles and drones toward targets in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq, accompanied by warnings that the escalation would continue if the strikes persisted. At sea, maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has significantly decreased, with a Saudi tanker being attacked, while an investigation revealed that Russia secretly assisted Iran in developing hypersonic missiles. Arab and international condemnations of Iranian attacks have poured in, amid threatening rhetoric from Washington and Tehran, in a broader context of a war of attrition involving the Strait of Hormuz and wider regional areas.
