The Yemeni National Defense Council stated that the state is capable of regaining the initiative and protecting the coasts from Houthi extortion. It affirmed that the national struggle is not about a specific location or region, and that any temporary military gains will not change the reality that the goal is to restore the state's sovereignty over the entire Yemeni territory. The council emphasized that Yemen is defending the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, its coasts, islands, and territorial waters, calling on the international community not to allow these areas to be used as platforms for threatening international navigation. It also stressed that their fight against the Houthis requires firm action in accordance with international law. Additionally, the council condemned the Houthis' attacks on Yemeni territories and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, affirming that Yemen's security is linked to that of Saudi Arabia. It urged the international community to support Yemen's efforts to protect its sovereignty and waters, clarifying that the Houthis are responsible for military escalation and human rights violations.
