Ronaldo Calls for Sanctions on Al-Taawoun Fans
Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al Nassr Saudi Club, spoke about the provoking behavior of Al Taawoun fans towards Al Hilal player Rubin Neves during the match between the two teams. The fans loudly chanted the name of the late Diego Jota in an attempt to provoke Neves, whose relationship with Jota was close. Jota's death coincided with a severe traffic accident in Spain that also claimed the life of his brother. Ronaldo condemned the behavior of the fans, calling for intervention from the league association and punishment for such conduct, emphasizing that these acts are unbecoming of football. This incident came after Al Hilal's 6-0 victory over Al Taawoun, highlighted by Gabriel Martinelli's impressive performance where he scored three goals, boosting the team to the top of the standings with 18 points.
