AI firm warnings impact stocks
Unexpected statements from leaders in the AI sector, including Dario Amodei and Sam Altman, have called for a halt to the rapid development of highly advanced AI models due to potential existential risks to humanity. This appeal has led to threats of a decline in the stock prices of major companies such as Nvidia and Micron, as investors believe that slowing progress could reduce demand for chips and negatively impact investments in the tech sector. Nevertheless, some experts expect the market to recover quickly, given the ongoing substantial investment in computing infrastructure.
