Obesity reduces breast immunity
A recent study from the Hunstman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah revealed that obesity reduces the production of a lipid substance called "9S-HODE" in breast tissues. This compound is important for promoting the death of cancer cells and providing protection against tumors, thereby supporting a natural process that helps eliminate tumor cells. The researchers found that individuals with a normal weight produce higher amounts of this substance, while its production decreases with obesity. This discovery could open the door to developing treatments that restore natural protection and reduce breast cancer growth. Experiments showed that increasing the level of this substance diminishes cancer development, indicating that obesity weakens the body's natural defenses against tumor growth in the breast.
