Ta'izz and Yemen's Arab Identity
The Yemeni city of Taiz defends its authentic Arab cultural identity despite attempts by the Iran-supported Houthi militia to seize control of it. Taiz plays a strategic role through its distinguished geographic location, its coasts on the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the MQA port. The city makes sacrifices to preserve its heritage and its position within the civil state. It is determined not to relinquish its history and faces attacks from the militias that aim to destroy Yemen and undermine its Arab identity, emphasizing the importance of supporting legitimate forces in their resistance.
