The Netherlands national team faced a wave of racist comments on social media platforms after their loss to Morocco in the World Cup in Qatar, following a 3-2 penalty shootout. The Dutch Football Association announced that they have filed an official complaint with the public prosecutor to pursue legal action against the offensive messages that specifically targeted the players who missed their penalty kicks.
