A legal document has revealed that FIFA, the International Football Federation, accused the European football union, UEFA, of launching a smear campaign against it and its president, Gianni Infantino, with the aim of escalating opposition to a proposed plan to sell part of its commercial rights. This comes after FIFA withdrew its rights sale plan in July amid opposition from its members, while UEFA is considering taking legal action against Infantino regarding the World Cup rights project linked to the company "FIFA Forward Enterprise." Additionally, Infantino faces criticism from some countries and clubs and is engaged in a battle for political support concerning his past and his vision for football management.
