The Algerian Football Federation is preparing to announce the name of the new head coach for the national team, replacing the Swiss Vladimir Petković, whose contract was recently terminated. It is likely that former coach Ibrahim Hamdani will take the lead, following his success with the Under-21 team and his victory in a medal at the 2026 Mediterranean Games. The federation will hold a crucial meeting on September 5 to discuss the identity of the new technical director, with expectations that he will be appointed along with an assistant coaching staff comprised of former colleagues Antar Yahia and Karim Mammar.
