The UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) imposed a fine of 90,000 euros on Serbian club Red Star Belgrade due to chants by its supporters praising Ratko Mladić, the commander of the Bosnian Serb forces and convicted of war crimes and genocide, who died on the same day. During the team's match in the Europa League, fans displayed banners and performed a military salute to Mladić, known for the Srebrenica massacre. UEFA confirmed that the penalties include a financial fine and a ban on Red Star selling tickets to its supporters for their upcoming away match against Lugano in Switzerland, in addition to prohibiting their attendance at the game, with the penalty set to be lifted after two years under supervision.
